Mariah Baltezegar is a senior director focused on rare diseases and serves as the commercial lead on the Rare Disease and Pediatric Center of Excellence. In the past two years, Ms. Baltezegar has lead teams across over 200 rare disease engagements and an array of therapeutic areas and indications.
Ms. Baltezegar has worked for more than 18 years in various clinical research capacities. Her career began as a clinical research coordinator, working to recruit patients and manage their study participation and retention in clinical trials. Ms. Baltezegar’s clinical research experience continued to expand when she joined PPD in 2012. This experience includes serving as a project manager and subsequently oversight director in rare indications such as cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Currently, Ms. Baltezegar is responsible for leading teams in development of patient-centric strategies to meet client’s rare disease and pediatric development objectives.
Ms. Baltezegar completed her master of business administration degree at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in statistics from Winona State University.
