CRA Apprenticeship Videos
When Sarah Peterman, with PPD talent acquisition, first learned of PPD’s increased focus on military and veteran hiring she was thrilled.
“As a military spouse I am proud to be a part of a company that recognizes and emphasizes the value of military experience," she says. "I immediately wanted to be involved!”
Sarah’s passion was a perfect match for PPD’s clinical research apprenticeship program. This program is the first registered apprenticeship for clinical research associates (CRAs) in the U.S. It is designed for military and veteran candidates, who bring leadership, organizational and communication skills gained in the military.
At PPD, we have the unique opportunity to work in a corporate environment to benefit a purpose greater than ourselves. Mike Wilkinson, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief information officer for PPD, explains, “Serving in the military is for your country, for the people around you. But here at PPD I’m helping to bring life-changing therapies to people in need.”
Mike retired from the U.S. Navy in 1999 as a commander after 23 years of service. He transitioned directly into the contract research industry. His leadership brings to light the value of military service in a life-sciences environment.
