PPD in the Community

Key acquisitions have strengthened PPD's ability to provide a broad range of development services to our growing client base in Central and Eastern Europe. PPD is now one of the largest CROs operating in this high-growth region, and across our entire EMEA region, our employees generously support the communities where we live and work.

Our community affairs initiatives allow employees to support these causes and enable them, through their professional lives at PPD, to be able to give back to their communities.

Examples of PPD in the Community

Under the project name "So chariPPDal!," employees from the Bulgarian office volunteer regularly in a variety of environmental and social activities. Participants donate their labor and time to ensure PPD has a positive impact on people, the society and the environment.

Project activities started in the summer of 2012, when 144 employees took part in a two-day charitable and volunteer event in the historical town of Hissarya, Bulgaria. Some assisted with repair activities. Others donated items to a home for children deprived from parental care and a home for the elderly. And another team particpated in a green initiative – planting trees and flowers, and refurbishing outdoor playgrounds.

The tradition continued with two more events in December 2012 and May 2013. In addition to the usual volunteer work, computer equipment, furniture and books were donated to a school for children with impaired hearing at Hisarya, a home for the elderly at Startosel, the alliance of people with rare diseases and several other institutions.

The Bulgarian team plans to keep alive the tradition to support different charitable and volunteer initiatives.
